Shannon is an oncology social worker at CancerCare, providing counseling to people coping with cancer and people who have experienced the loss of a loved one.

Shannon shares, “I’ve always had a passion for providing support to communities dealing with hardships beyond their control, previously holding internships in the fields of violence, addiction, and at-risk children. CancerCare has provided me the opportunity to be the first point of contact to individuals and their families as they cope with cancer’s physical, emotional and social interruptions. It is a privilege to witness the resilience, gratitude, and strength this population displays daily.”
